I chose the quote " things do not change, we change"
ReplyDeleteI agree with this quote for the reasons that you cannot always wait around for people and things to change, its sometimes better to change them for the good of yourself. When making decisions, every single one will have an effect on you, both good and bad. It is said that things happen for a reason, that is also very true. Change is something that can help you live your life to the greatest, without change how can you expect to get anywhere in life. Change is what makes things interesting in your life and is the reason people are able to move forward.

ReplyDeleteI chose this quote because to me it means that if you do not have a set plan to take on a goal, it will seem far out of reach to achieve (like a wish). For example, my wish is to become a professional baseball player. But I just don't become one by simply wishing for it. I work everyday to get my self better and better so I can build up to achieve my wish. You get what you put in. You have to earn everything you do, not by wishing for it. Plus, it feels so much sweeter to work so hard and to finally achieve a life-long goal.
A goal without a plan is just a wish. I totally agree with this statement because if you have a goal with no plan then you are pretty much wishing it to happen on its own. If you have a goal, you should do whatever you can to accomplish that goal. If the goal is complicated, then you will need a plan and follow that plan step by step to have success. Without a plan then you are clueless and you won't know what to do. Without a plan, you are just hoping something magical happens for your goal to come true. Goals don't just get reached without doing anything. You have to carefully plan out your goals to accomplish them. Without a plan, your goal is now a wish.
ReplyDeleteThe quote I chose was “Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens to him.”I agree with this quote because expierience is based off of what we have encountered first hand.It is how someone deals with what goes on in thier life. By building on diversiy and going through change shows the true definition of expirience with the ability to adapt to your surroundings. The more you practice and adjust with something the more comfortable you will be when it really counts. Expierence is based on prior objectives that can be built off of to be successful.
ReplyDeleteI chose the quote "Things do not change, we change." I agree with this quote because there can be so many reasons in only a few words. To me, society and surrounding are just objects and humans create change. In every sitaution I am put in, I change something in someway. People change for the good and bad at some times which may cause a happy or sad moment to occur. Change may be on purpose or by accident depending on how a person is viewing a situation. I agree with Tara when she is saying without change you can expect to get no where in life. It only takes one little change to completely turn your life around.
ReplyDeleteI picked the quote “A goal without a plan is just a wish” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery. I agree with this quote because its meaning is made evident in everyday life. Another way of saying this quote is if you want something you have to do something to get it. You cannot just sit around and hope for it. An example of this is if you are competing for a spot on a sports team you have to work for it and not just wish for it. Or if you want to get into a certain school you cannot just wait around and hope for the best. You have to work hard and be the best student you can be now so your goal comes true later. In conclusion I agree with this quote because it is absolutely true and has a clear message to it.
ReplyDeleteI picked the quote: "A goal without a plan is just a wish" I completely agree with this quote because something you wish for does not just magically happen, some work has to be put forth to get where you want to. In my opinion, a goal is something you desire to reach, but to get to that goal neccessary steps are to be taken.If one expects the thing they are striving for to just happen overnight, they are sadly mistaken. In the end, a plan is needed if you wish to reach a specific goal.
ReplyDelete“Things do not change; we change.” – Henry David Thoreau is the quote I chose. I agree with this quote because nothing or anyone is guaranteed to remain the same throughout life. For example, my best friend and I have known each other since age 4 and we've been friends ever since then, but now as we continue our journey throughout life we're starting to realize that we've changed as individuals and our friendship isn't what it used to be but yet we're trying to save it. Society itself hasn’t changed in the sense of architectural but it has changed community wise; the people. Society is now more about survival of the fittest and cultural separation rather than harmony and embracing cultural differences. This isn’t due to society itself but because of the people in society. The political leaders, adults, and children are completely different from when society was first introduced years ago.

It doesnt matter if it was a bad thing or a good thing, it still has an impact. Isay something bad happens to you in your life, for example: your abused, that can impact how you choose to live the rest of your life. You can live it bassed off of that and live in shame or be scared, or it can make you a stronger person and you get past it.
ReplyDeleteI chose the quote “A goal without a plan is just a wish”. It basically means that without the motivation to do something, it will only be a wish of yours. One example of this is kids and sports. many kids love playing sports and often dream of being a pro sports player but very few actually have the motivation and determination to make that happen. Ive always been taught that hard work is the key to whatever you want in life, nothing will just be given to you and if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to get it
ReplyDeleteI chose the quote “A goal without a plan is just a wish” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery because i agree that for every goal that we have has to be a well thought out idea. You can't just make up a goal and try doing it without a plan or atleast ideas of how you are going to accomplish the goal. A wish can be anyhting and most of the time you wont follow through with the wish. But if you have a wish and make a plan and have accomplishments to complete the wish then it becomes a goal. You need steps to complete a goal and have everything thought out throughly.

Nothing will just be given to you in life you have to work for it. But if it is just given to you, you dont take care of it and you dont respect it because you will not appreciate the work that was put into it.

ReplyDeleteI like this quote because I think it can apply to almost every person in the world in at least one circumstance. My own personal experience proving this quote to be correct has to do with our old high school, St. Pius X. I have returned there multiple times to stand in the parking lot ‘one more time’ simply for nostalgic reasons. I have noticed the fact that every time I got there I realize that that place was what helped me from the person I am now and will be in the future. I’ve realized that over my three years there, I and those around me and those before me have changed so much and yet that place still remained Pius over the years. It made me think about who I was coming in to high school as opposed to who I am now and who I might be later and yet that old building will remain the same. The only difference now is that it is an elementary school but still holds sentimental value to all those who walked its halls as a student (except the this year’s sophomores because to them it was just an old crappy building, as it was to us when we were in their position but developed different opinions over the years). I feel like it was so long ago that I was a freshman and yet I remember my first day like it was yesterday and can hardly believe what we have gone through.

ReplyDeleteMandela released this quote just after he was elected into presidency. He was in prison for a long time then was released and took the presidents office in south africa.
When I was a little kid the coolest place to me was this playground up the street called kids castle. It took up over an acre of land and was around 50 feet tall at the top.
The other day my brother and I drove past it and it wasnt the same. It was nice but it didnt give me the same thrill it gave me when i was in gradeschool.
